Good Fellowship and Great Reads

We had a great night of fellowship this past Saturday. We had our ~*Sweetheart Banquet*~ with our church. We had about 14-15 couples this year that were able to attend. We usually pick a restaurant and all join there. We have a room to ourselves and enjoy a great meal together with wonderful fellowship. Then the games begin!!!! Usually embarrassing, stomach hurting from laughing so hard kind of games. As you can see from the pics below they go in on some of the games. At the end of the evening we have a game called the "oldie wed" game. The winner of this game enjoys a paid way to our couples retreat in September. The things we find out during that game are so hilarious that I walked away from the evening with a headache and stomach hurting from laughing so hard. It was a great night of fellowship! I love our church and church family!

As for my good reads...Oh I love to read...fiction, non-fiction, it really doesn't matter. I just love books that stir my heart for the Lord. Of course my favorite is the bible, but here are some good reads that my husband and I are reading right now.

1.) Joyfully at home (bought for our girls and is loved by them)

2.) Ten P's in a Pod (excited about this one~been wanting to read for a year)

3.) Housewives Desperate For God

4.) The Family (need I say more)

5.) What He Must Be To Marry My Daughter~so far excellent

6.) Paradise Valley

7.) Ronald Reagon 100 years (my husband & I love Reagon)

8.) Revolution in World Missions

9.) Family Driven Faith (I already read but we are both re-reading)

10.) Family Man, Family Leader

11.) Preparing to Be A Helpmeet (loved Created to Be His Helpmeet,

we bought this for our daughters)

12.) Avenged (not pictured~my hubby is reading this one)

We had to get the Ritz cracker in our mouth without touching it and no help from our spouse! Somehow we won...please don't ask.. I had cracker in my eyes and hair all night :)

These were the 4 couples playing the oldie wed game

The wives came back in the room after being out and had to pick their husbands foot from the group...they all got it right!

Priceless! Love you Sheila :)

Needless to say they got the answer wrong..lol

Love these books...always great to find books that help you to strengthen you walk with the Lord. I also love Beverly Lewis books..strangely enough I have non listed but have 2 new ones in our family library beckoning my name!

You will love Ten P's in a Pod!! Read it as a family. It is probably our favorite book. Your kids will be on the edge of their seats at how amazingly the Lord provides for this family.

Love your blog! Wish we had like minded friends nearby.

By the way, how old is your daughter who is courting? How did she meet him? My oldest 2 are daughters (ages 20 and 19) I am always interested in what other older stay at home daughters do after high school.
